The Charge Of Ordination

“I charge you before God in the Lord Jesus Christ: preach the word, be prepared in all seasons, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry, take authority to administer the sacraments, and take leadership in the church of God. And now by the authority invested in me in the Church of Nazarene, I ordain you elder in the Church of God in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

This is the charge that Nazarene ministers are given at their ordination by the presiding General Superintendent. Every year when I hear it, it’s like a renewal of vows.
