After a decade of shows, Fred Rogers needed to take a breather. In 1976, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood went on a three year hiatus. One year into the show’s hiatus, our favorite sweater-loving neighbor took a break from his vacation so that he could film the rarely seen special, Christmastime with Mister Rogers. It would be the only Christmas special that he ever made in his long career. Christmastime With Fred Rogers was the name of that special and it’s the focus of this special bonus episode.
