Like A Child began as two members in the spring of 2007. Now they are five. They began with reverberating electric guitars. Now they play banjos. They began with personal ambition. Now they are worshippers. They chose their band name without realizing its implications. Like A Child. It was just a name: short, catchy and full of “meaning,” meaning they knew then only in a cerebral way. But as the Lord brings them deeper and deeper into joy, into childlike bliss and frolicking, they have come to embrace the name with relish. Now they act like children, even as they grow older by the day. Their new EP, “Springfield, Ohio”, is a unique blend of folk rock energy mixed with spiritual sensitivity and heart. I caught up with them after a show in Springfield Ohio. You can hear it all on today’s episode of Voices In My Head.
I also unveil a new song that I’ll be introducing on “Basement Psalms,” my live album which will be recorded at the Clifton Opera House on September 7th.
